KIDSLOPE PRESENTS: LEARN-TO-SKI!
WHAT IS LEARN-TO-SKI?
KidSlope, the only urban, year-round, artificial ski slope of its kind
in the United States, is joining forces with the Colorado ski industry
to offer children the opportunity to learn-to-ski, for free.
The program, modeled after the successful annual learn-to-ski promotion
in February at Colorado's mountain resorts, offers first-time skiers a
free introductory lesson, including ski equipment.
WHY "LEARN-TO-SKI?"
Offering new skiers the opportunity to try skiing has become a long
term goal for the ski industry -- in Colorado and nationwide. KidSlope
makes this first time experience easy by offering beginner skiers an
opportunity right here in Denver prior to visiting one of the
larger mountain resorts.
KidSlope's user-friendly, self-contained environment offers beginners
an introduction to ski lessons. By taking lessons at KidSlope,
children are better prepared for the mountain ski resort experience.
KIDSLOPE DISABLED SKI PROGRAM FACTS
KidSlope is an artificially surfaced ski slope offering year-round
skiing to children in the Denver Metro area. Located at the Children's
Museum of Denver, it is the only urban ski slope of its kind in the
United States. In cooperation with Colorado Ski Country USA,
KidSlope opened for skiing in November 1990. To date, more than 35,000
skiers and including Denver Public School students have learned to ski
at KidSlope.
Due to the success of its program, KidSlope is now offering a unique
new program designed for the disabled skier.
WHAT IS THE KIDSLOPE DISABLED SKI PROGRAM?
* KidSlope offers the disabled the chance to learn how to ski.
* KidSlope involves family members. We believe skiing is an
activity for all family members.
* KidSlope offers flexible hours for instruction. While on a
reservation-only basis, instructors can be arranged to accommodate
the needs of the participant.
WHO ARE THE INSTRUCTORS FOR THE DISABLED SKI PROGRAM?
* The National Center for the Disabled at Winter Park Resort is
working with KidSlope to provide instructors and comprehensive
training.
* Instructors and students are individually matched to meet the
needs of the skier.
WHEN ARE CLASSES AVAILABLE?
* Disabled ski lessons are available year-round, by reservation
only.
* Reservations can be made by calling Karla Wiesner, 303-433-7444,
ext. 121
