GRAND CANYON, Ariz. - September 22, 2003 - Xanterra Parks & Resorts, operator of lodges, restaurants and activities in Grand Canyon National Park, has announced its lineup of winter rates and packages for the 2003-04 winter season. The packages are available Nov. 30 through Dec. 18, 2003 and again Jan. 4 through March 11, 2004.

This year's packages include:

The Winter Value Rate. For $68 per night plus tax guests receive a room at Maswik or Yavapai Lodge. The rate is good for single or double occupancy. The cost for each additional person in the room is $9.25. Children 16 and under stay at no extra charge.

The Grand Value Package, available at Maswik and Yavapai lodges. The cost for this two-night package is $99 plus tax for single or double occupancy. Additional persons in the room cost $9.25 each with the exception of children 16 and under. In addition, guests receive discounts at all gift shops operated by Xanterra in Grand Canyon National Park. The discounts range from 10 percent on purchases of $50-99.99 to 20 percent on purchases of $100 or more.

The El Tovar Romance Package at the elegant El Tovar Hotel - a national historic landmark - includes one night in a standard queen room, a bottle of California sparkling wine and fruit basket in the room and dinner for two with a bottle of El Tovar wine in the hotel's dining room. The base package cost is $249 plus tax. Guests may upgrade to a deluxe room or suite, based upon availability, for an additional harge.
