How To Get Here:
The San Antonio Convention & Visitors Bureau (SACVB) will be the first CVB in the country offering not one, but two nationally-recognized Internet-based convention delegate housing programs for its clients. By contracting with passkey.com and b-there.com, the SACVB will offer meeting planners more choices than any other CVB, said Steve Moore, SACVB executive director. The expanded service provides SACVB customers with the option to tailor a housing service to fit their individual needs, Moore said.
"Many CVBs across the country have signed on with one service or the other, which puts the meeting planner in a position to use only the housing service that particular CVB has contracted with," Moore said. "Our advantage is that we're providing the client with two high-caliber housing options, in addition to our existing in-house housing service."
"By contracting with both passkey.com and b-there.com, the SACVB will level the playing field with other cities and provide a degree of built-in consistency for meeting planners as they seek delegate accommodations across the country," said Auntrell Grover, SACVB director of reservations. "One of the biggest housing complaints is that it is inconsistent," Grover said. "Different cities use different services and systems. Our approach allows meeting planners to use the same on-line services as they go from city to city."
Utilizing passkey.com and b-there.com allows meeting planners to build databases that they can access 24 hours a day. In addition, the systems allow hotels to manage their yield and monitor inventory. It also boosts the SACVB's current housing service, which is restricted to submitting housing requests via fax and mail.
