LOCATION Sevierville is located between Asheville, North Carolina, and Knoxville, Tennessee, on Interstate 40 at exit 407. Sitting on the edge of the Great Smoky Mountains next to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Sevierville is easily accessible by car or plane. It is one hour from Knoxville's McGhee Tyson Airport, with more than 100 commercial flights per day. The Pigeon Forge / Gatlinburg Aviation Center is only minutes away with a 5,500-foot runway which services small aircrafts including corporate jets. Both taxi and rental services are available. 865-453-8393.There are over 10,000 residents in Sevierville and over 62,000 in Sevier County. Sevier County includes Sevierville, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Pittman Center and surrounding communities. Wednesday, November 8: 6 p.m. - Enjoy a welcoming reception with special guests to be followed by dinner in the rustic lodge atmosphere of Rocky River Brewery & Grille. This grille comes complete with wild game, a microbrewery and sports club. 7:30 p.m. - Enjoy a relaxing bus tour through the heart of Sevierville and view the brilliant Winterfest displays. Sevierville will be shining bright with its beautiful display of lights as the quiet mountain town is transformed into a wonderland for the seasonal celebration! Millions of lights will illuminate this picturesque town and shine straight through the February as part of Smoky Mountain Winterfest Celebration. Thursday, November 9: 9 a.m. - Depart for a tour of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park with step-on guide and local storyteller, Ruth Miller. She will tell you all about the most visited national park in the country. 9:40 a.m. - Meet with National Park Representative Carey Jones at Sugarland Welcome Center. 12:00 p.m. - Enjoy a picnic provided by Ham and Goodies in the park while Ruth Miller tells stories of the mountain life in Tennessee. 3:15 p.m. - Depart for Dollywood, Tennessee's #1 Attraction! Home of the Tennessee Tornado, the world's first spiro-loop coaster, and the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame and the new Dreamland Forest. Your afternoon at Dolly Parton's 118-acre Smoky Mountain escape will be filled with a variety of entertainment, music, attractions, craft demonstrations and much more. 5:45 p.m. - Meet for dinner D.J. Platter's at Dollywood. 7:30 p.m. - While visiting Dollywood, enjoy a performance of "Christmas in the Smokies." Friday, November 10: 8 a.m. - Enjoy a country breakfast surrounded by an apple orchard overlooking the Little Pigeon River at the Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant. Sevierville is the perfect place for a shopper. The best "shopportunity" in the Smokies is in Sevierville. There's everything from country crafts and mountain antiques to name-brand outlet malls. You're sure to find it all in Sevierville. 9 a.m. - Tour the Apple Barn Complex, a working farm with over 4,000 apple trees covering the surrounding hillsides. These provide all of the apples for the two restaurants, a candy factory, winery, creamery, bakery and general store located in the complex. 10 a.m. - Depart for a tour of the people and places that make Sevierville everyone's favorite Smoky Mountain hometown. Downtown Sevierville is home to the county's 104-year-old courthouse, which is the heart of Sevierville. You will see the statue of Sevierville's favorite hometown girl, Dolly Parton,. And right across the street is Temple's Feed and Seed Store. This isn't your typical feed store. County Commissioner Jimmie Temple, the store owner, conducts marriages daily in right in the back of his store. Last year alone, he performed 1,130 weddings. Stroll through the Sevier County Heritage Museum and get a feel for Sevierville past and present. From Prehistoric artifacts to hand crafted mountain tools, discover the rich history of Sevierville. 11:30 a.m. - Visit the Robert A. Tino Gallery located in the historic home of John H. Denton. The Gallery is home to a wide and wonderful selection of local artist Robert A. Tino's work. Born and raised in Sevierville, Robert knows his art and captures the beauty of Sevierville and the Great Smoky Mountains in his work 12 noon - Enjoy a delightful lunch at the new Tennessee Smokies Baseball Stadium. Take a tour of this $18-million stadium which is new as of Spring 2000. It's the newest attraction to Sevierville. The AA Tennessee Smokies, a branch of the Toronto Blue Jays, recently relocated from Knoxville. This stadium houses a county welcome center, restaurant. The stadium holds 6,000 fixed seats, a berm seating area and 18 suites. 2:00p.m. - Explore Smoky Mountain Knife Works, one of the Southeast's largest displays of trophy wildlife and the world's largest knife showplace. See the Smoky Mountain Outdoor Mall, where you'll find everything to make your day or night outdoors perfect. 3:30 p.m. - Reminisce about times gone by at Riverside Antique and Collectors Mall. The 35,000 square feet of displays ranging from unique oddities to a vintage aircraft will make you feel like you have been transported back in time. 8 p.m. - Relax as the performers of Sevierville's first music theater, Southern Nights Theater, celebrate the holiday season with Southern hospitality. The Smith boys will entertain you with holiday tunes sure to put you in the spirit of the season. You'll see everything from gospel to rock 'n roll during this holiday show. Afterwards meet with the entertainers back stage. Saturday, November 11: 8 a.m. - Breakfast at Golden Corral. Sevierville offers some of the newest and most unique attractions in the Smokies. From Forbidden Caverns underground excitement to the high-speed excitement of NASCAR SpeedPark, Sevierville is where Smoky Mountain fun begins. 9 a.m. - Race over to Floyd Garrett's Muscle Car Museum and tour the newest, largest and most incredible collection of American muscle cars ever assembled. 10 a.m. - Depart for a morning of spelunking through one of America's most spectacular caves and great natural attractions, Forbidden Caverns. The Caverns were once home to the Eastern Woodland Indians and presently boasts the largest wall of rare cave onyx known to exist. (Wear comfortable shoes; this is a walking tour.) 12 noon - Enjoy lunch at The Mountain Edge Grill. 1:00 p.m. - Now get back on track with eight custom stock car tracks at NASCAR SpeedPark where there is always full-throttle fun for everyone. This speed park has nine tracks from baby Bristol, designed for children as young as four; to Thunder Road, where drivers compete with the clock in 5/8-scale NASCAR Cup cars, there's something for all fans. If racing is not for you, check out the two largest outlet centers in Sevierville. The Tanger Outlet Center, a 84-store center, includes stores like DKNY, Ralph Lauren, Brook Brothers Factory Store, GAP Outlet, Lenox Factory Store, Nine West, Sunbeam and many more. Governor's Crossing Outlet is right next door and offers more shopping from books and jewelry to golf and much more. There's something for everyone. 5:30 p.m. - Eat like a champion at NASCAR Cafe. While you're there, jump in the seat of a racing simulator, compete on interactive video games or just enjoy the atmosphere of one of America's friendliest sports. 7:30 p.m. - Sit back and relax at Governor's Palace Theatre as a cast of 24 of Opryland's brightest new stars sing and dance in Opryland Productions' "Christmas at the Palace." This high-energy extravaganza filled with lavish sets and dazzling costumes offers a tribute to southern music. Following the show, meet the cast back stage.
