                        LAPTOP THEFT ON RISE AT AIRPORTS
 The Federal Aviation Administration recently issued a warning concerning a
 hustle that is being employed at airports across the country to steal laptop
 computers.

 The hustle involves two persons who look for a victim carrying a laptop and
 approaching a metal detector. They position themselves in front of the
 unsuspecting passenger and stall the procession until the victim puts the
 laptop computer on the conveyor belt Then the first person moves through the
 metal detector easily, the second person sets off the detector and begins a
 slow prccess of emptying pockets, removing jewelry, etc. While this is
 happening, the first person takes the laptop as soon as it appears on the
 conveyor belt and moves away quickly to the gate area and disappears among the
 crowd. When the passenger lllillIy gets through the metal detector, the laptop
 is gone.

 Sometimes a thid person will take a hand off from the first person and the
 computer is out of the restricted area before the victim even knows that it is
 gone.

 This is becoming a widely practiced technique and it is happening at apports
 eveywhere. when traveling with a laptop computer, you should do the following:

  *  Stay alert.

  *  Avoid lines when entering a metal detector, if at all possible.

  *  Delay placing your luggage and laptop on the conveyor belt until you are
     sure that you will be the next person through the metal detector.

  *  As you move through the metal detector, keep your eyes on the conveyor belt
     and watch your luggage and laptop to come through as well as watching for
     what those in front of you are picking up.

CONSUMER TIPS:

              Knowing Rights If Bumped May Mean Free Trip
At this time of the year when throngs of business and vacation travelers are in
the airports everywhere, it's important to remember what your rights are in
case you get bumped from a flight.

Frist, if another flight gets you to your destination within an hour of your
originally scheduled arrival time, the airline doesn't have to give you any
compensation.

For getting you there one hour to two hours late, the airline must give you a
free trip to your destination.

If an alternative flight is unavailable or you arrive more than two hours late,
you are entitled to 200 percent of the price of your ticket up to a maximum of
$400.

An even more important rule to keep in mind is that if you don't check in for a
flight on time or don't buy the ticket before a certain deadline, you may not
be compensated at all for losing your seat.

To avoid the unhappiness that comes with bumping passingers, some airlines
offer $100, $200 or more in cash, or a free ticket to anywhere the carrier
goes, to anyone who volunteers to get off an oversold flight.

In such situations, it pays to know the airline schedules to your destination.
You still could get to where you're going within a reasonable time frame and
receive a free trip to Hawaii in the bargin.

AIR TRANSPORTATION:
The Aspen/Snowmass airport is served by both United Express and continental
Express. Both airlines provide easy access to and from most areas of the country
via frequent connecung flights in Denver. Continental Express offers up to 18
round tnp flights daily between Denver and Aspen, connecting with its Denver
hub.  Service is also available into Grand Junction's Walker Field.

United Express offers non-stop jet service daily from Chicago O'Hare and Los
Angeles International Airport and 20 flights daily between Denver and Aspen.
Service is also available into Eagle County Airport on United from Denver.

American Airlines offers non-stop service into Eagle County Airport from
Chicago, Dallas, New York and Miami. Pease be advised to arrange ground

SUMMIT COUNTY - Breckenridge, Keystone, Arapahoe Basin
Via Denver
Keystone/Arapahoe Basin and Breckenridge are approximately 90 and 104 miles,
respectively, west via Interstate 70 of Denver International Airport, which has
daily flights to and from most major cities nationwide. DIA is the world's
newest airport and one of, if not the most technologically advanced. A variety
of technologies and a unique runway layout allow three planes to take off or
land at the same time, even in bad weather.

Via Colorado Springs
Breckenridge and Keystone/Arapahoe Basin are approximately 110 and 125 road
miles, respectively, northwest of Colorado Springs Municipal Airport, which
offers a slightly  less-expensive and less-crowded alternative to flying into
Denver. The drive is mainly on two-lane highways and takes longer than the drive
from DIA.

Via Eagle County
Breckenridge and Keystone/Arapahoe Basin are approximately 70 miles east via
Interstate 70 of the Vail/Beaver Creek Jet Center, which has daily flights in
the winter to and from many major U.S. cities.
